Tune Stay Kyoto

We had a great stay at Tune Stay Kyoto and we would look back to visiting again. It is a great value hotel that is affordable yet still very classy and chic. Whilst rooms are quite tight (which is average for Japan), the layout and use of space is quite efficient, allowing us to easily store and access our 2 full sized suitcases, coats and other shopping bags. The staff were warm and helpful, even by Japanese standards. They always greeted and farewelled us whenever we left and returned. The main highlight of Tune Stay are the great common facilities. The lobby leads into a spacious library staircase which doubles as a short-film cinema at night. There is plenty of lounging area connected to the communal kitchen and laundry area at the basement. With the addition to the morning cafe/evening cocktail bar next to concierge, the entire space feels very elegant even for the 3 star price range. We found ourselves spending a lot of time at the library lounge in between our day trips and it was nice to have an open space to relax, making our stay feel less cramped. The hotel is in a good location which is within walking distance to the station and main business district. It is a quiet area with some cafes and dining around. My only complaint is about the hygiene of the rooms. Overall cleanliness was decent, rooms are well kept, non-smoking, and they offered us 2 cleaning days for our 6 night stay. However we could see some dust build up near the ceilings and ventilation/AC area, which is not ideal for people prone to allergies. Overall I would rate the hotel 4.5/5 and we definitely feel like we got more value from what we paid for. See you again, love from Australia 🦘🇦🇺✌️

Had a wonderful time at Tune Stay. I arrived around 2pm asking to store my luggage and come back later to get the room key. Yet the staff arranged to have the room ready for me right away. The single room was beyond my expectation. It’s small, but it had everything you need. Bed was comfortable, room and shower was clean. Very quiet at night. 5 minutes walk to JR Kyoto station, super convenient for travelers. The lady who helped me checkin was super friendly and spoke fluent English, plus she looked like Lisa from Black Pink, very pretty. Highly recommend for everyone visiting Kyoto. Will definitely come back in the near future.

We had a truly fantastic time at Tune Stay. We stayed 6 nights in the Corner Suite and it was simply amazing. It was big, quiet, clean, modern the sound system was great. There was a lounge with free snacks and free drinks where you could go every day until late. The craft Gin tasting was wonderful, and it’s at walking distance from the train station which was very convenient to go to Nara, Osaka and other spots around Kyoto. I highly recommend it to anyone.

This is by far the best place that we stayed in Japan. The rooms are clean and modern compared to others. The bathroom is big and the bed is very comfortable. There are a lot of space where you can keep your things. The staff are very accomodating and helpful and all are great English speakers. What I like the most is the library near the reception with a huge collection of books. There is also a short film showing at night where you can relax at the end of your daytrip. The kitchen and laundry are also easily accessible from the library and the elevator. The location of hotel is convenient and just 1 minute to a Bus station. About 7 mins walk to Kyoto Station. We really love our stay here, the service, the room, the staff , the amenities are all 5 stars! We would definitely stay here again.

Location of the Hotel is perfect, it is only a 5 minute walk to Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower. Nishi-hongwanji Temple is only 7 minute away. And for book lovers, you will enjoy their selections + the cozy set up of their reading area. The room is clean but small that if you have large case of luggage, its hard to move around. There is an eatery near the Hotel that serves rice, chicken and other Japanese dishes you’ll enjoy Oreryu Shio-Ramen 俺流塩らーめん 渋谷三丁目店. Family Mart can be found on the other corner of the street.
